Head of Passes at Steppenwolf Theatre (running through June 9) is a world premier play that takes the Biblical story of Job and translates it into the present day, with the “Job” character being an elderly woman named Shelah living at the “Head of Passes,” an immense area of Louisiana marshland where the Mississippi River meets the Gulf of Mexico.
